Position Summary:
MDG is seeking a goal-oriented, self-motivated sales professional who is passionate about closing business while staying focused on our vision to Feed, Clean and Save the World. The position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing business with external companies to sell MDG’s products to the wastewater and environmental industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Close new business and hit revenue targets.
- Partner Identification and Recruitment: Identify and vet potential partners that sell or implement wastewater/environmental products or services aligning with MDG’s products and platform approach.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with existing partners, including their sales teams, executive leadership, and technical personnel.
- Enablement and Training: Provide partners with the resources, training, and support needed to successfully market, sell, and implement MDG’s wastewater and environmental products.
- Account planning, monitoring, and Reporting: Develop partner-specific sales and support plans. Track partner and product performance against defined metrics. Provide regular reports and forecasts and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with MDG’s internal teams including technical field service, R&D, marketing, and customer service to ensure channel partner success and hit revenue goals.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices by attending relevant trade shows, conferences, events, and company meetings.
- Track and maintain channel partner activity, opportunities, product portfolio and general ongoings in MDG’s CRM
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Majority of work is conducted remotely, with up to 50% overnight travel required.
- Candidate must live close to a major airport.
- Frequent travel to customer sites and facilities via air and driving.
Education & Training:
- BS Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the wastewater or environmental products industry.
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience through distribution.
- Experience in industrial and/or municipal wastewater markets.
- Demonstrated track record of closing new business and hitting revenue targets.
- Experience with hands-on work in the field with industrial or municipal wastewater.
- Working knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and environmental compliance standards.
- Ability to interpret technical data and communicate complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with CRM systems (ex. Salesforce) to manage pipeline and forecasting.
- Excellent verbal/written communication.
- Social and persuasive personality, with a strong ability to focus and close deals.
- Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Able to build business through Trust, Value, and Relationships.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing and sitting for extended periods, and use of PPE as required.
- Potential exposure to airborne particles, fermentation media, and industrial chemicals.
- Adherence to all company safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Adherence to all food safety procedures as per FDA regulations, including the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) or any other applicable federal, state, or local food safety regulations.
